CyberSecureToday publishes cybersecurity news, analysis and technical guidance. Access is free and does not require an account. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the service at any time.

3. Editorial content is information, not advice

Our articles are journalism. They are not professional security consulting, legal advice or a substitute for your own risk assessment. Technical guidance is written for a general audience and may not suit your specific environment.

6. Reporting on organisations, incidents and threat actors

This publication reports on security incidents, vulnerabilities and the organisations affected by them. That reporting is undertaken in the public interest, for an audience of people professionally responsible for defending systems.

We distinguish in the text between confirmed fact, official statement, third-party assessment and unverified claim — including claims made by extortion groups on leak sites, which we report as claims and never as established fact. Attribution of an intrusion to any actor is reported as the assessment of whoever made it, at the confidence level they stated. See our disclaimer for how to read that language.

Where we report on a named organisation's security failure we seek comment before publication wherever practicable, and we publish a right of reply. If you are the subject of coverage and believe it is inaccurate or unfair, our complaints and right of reply page sets out how to raise that and the timescales we work to. We ask that you use it before instructing lawyers; it is faster, and we act on well-founded complaints.

We will correct what we get wrong. We will not withdraw accurate reporting in the public interest because it is unwelcome.

7. Third-party links

We link to external sources so you can verify our reporting. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy or privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement.

8. Newsletter

Subscribing is voluntary. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. We may discontinue the newsletter or change its format or frequency.
