What we do

There is no shortage of cybersecurity content. There is a shortage of cybersecurity content that respects the reader's time. Most coverage falls into one of two traps: repackaged vendor marketing, or breathless reporting on incidents with no guidance on what to do about them.

We try to sit in a narrower space. Every story should answer three questions: what happened, why it matters beyond the immediate victim, and what a security team should do differently as a result. If a story cannot answer the third question, it usually does not need to be written.

How we cover the news

  • Exploitation over severity. A CVSS 9.8 nobody is exploiting matters less than a CVSS 7.2 that is in every intrusion this month. We lead with what is actually being used.
  • Sources are cited. Every article links the research, advisory or report it draws from, so you can go to the primary source.
  • Corrections are visible. When we get something wrong we fix it and say so in the article, not quietly.
  • No unattributed vendor claims. Where a figure comes from a vendor with a commercial interest in the answer, we say so.

Editorial independence

Advertising and sponsorship fund this publication. Neither buys editorial coverage. Sponsored content is labelled unambiguously and is never written by the newsroom. Advertisers get no advance notice of coverage and no ability to review it. The full detail is in our editorial policy.

What we publish

We organise coverage into 5 sections, currently spanning 86 published articles:

  • News Breaking cybersecurity news, incidents and disclosures.
  • Threats Vulnerabilities, exploits, malware and active attack campaigns.
  • Insights Analysis and commentary on what the headlines actually mean.
  • Research Original research, technical deep dives and data studies.
  • Guides Practical, step-by-step hardening and response playbooks.

Frequently asked questions

Is CyberSecureToday free to read?

Yes. Every article is free with no paywall and no registration requirement. We fund the publication through advertising and sponsorship, kept clearly separate from editorial.

How do you decide what to cover?

We prioritise stories that change what a defender should do: vulnerabilities under active exploitation, campaigns affecting a broad set of organisations, and regulatory changes with operational consequences. Vendor announcements without new information do not make the cut.

Can I submit a tip or a security disclosure?

Yes. Email info@0daysecure.com for story tips. We protect source confidentiality and never publish identifying details without explicit consent.

Do you accept guest posts?

We accept contributed analysis from practitioners with direct expertise in the subject. We do not publish paid guest posts, and we do not accept content with embedded promotional links.
