What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. They let a site remember things between page loads — a preference you set, or whether you have seen a notice before. Related technologies like local storage do a similar job.
Our approach
We keep this deliberately minimal. We do not use advertising cookies, we do not use cross-site tracking pixels, and we do not build behavioural profiles of individual readers. You can read the whole site without accepting anything optional.

Embedded third-party content
Where we embed content from another service — a video, or a social post referenced in an article — that provider may set its own cookies. We only embed third-party content where it is necessary to the story, and those providers' own privacy policies govern what they collect.
How to control cookies
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
Blocking strictly necessary cookies may break parts of the site. Blocking analytics cookies will not affect anything you can see.
